Since 2025 we’ve been building our own engine for Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF files. Here’s why AI needed one, what your AI can do with it, and how we test it against Microsoft Word.
A document is more than its words: pages, styles, numbering, tables, comments. Today AI reaches them three ways, and each one leaves something out.
The AI writes code that edits the file. It never sees the page, and its edits aren’t marked, so you reread the whole document to find what changed. Broken numbering or layout often goes unnoticed.
The AI writes Markdown or HTML, then converts it into a document. The file is rebuilt from scratch, so its styles, comments and tracked changes are lost, and complex layouts need extra handling.
The AI navigates menus, waits for the app and checks each action. That extra work makes document editing slow.
What your AI needs is what you get from Word: the real document, a view of the page, and an undo button.
Your AI brings the writing and the eye for a page. Mobeera Office brings the features of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF, and shows you every change.
Your AI asks for headings, styles, tables, slides, cells and formulas, the way you think about them. It never edits the file’s internals.
Your AI can look at the finished pages and run layout checks for blank pages, stranded headings, split tables and text spilling out of shapes.
Each change is prepared and previewed before it lands, then undone in one step if you don’t like it. If you edited the document in the meantime, your AI’s change waits.
Your AI works only on files you share with it. In Docs its edits arrive as tracked changes under its name, for you to accept or reject like a colleague’s. Its review findings wait for you too.
You ask once. Your AI does the work in steps you can follow, and stops for you whenever you want to look.
“Turn these notes into a client proposal, check the layout, then send me Word and PDF copies.”
Real jobs cross formats. With all four editors in one app and one connection, your AI can take the figures from a workbook, build a deck and a report from them, and hand you the PDF, without switching apps.

181 kinds of change in all, each one a feature you know from Word, Excel, PowerPoint or a PDF editor. In every format, your AI can also read the document, find text, look at the pages and save a copy.
Your AI checks its work by looking at the pages. If our pages differ from Word’s, it fixes the wrong things or misses real problems. So we measure.
Microsoft Word for Mac opens each test document, updates its fields and saves a PDF.
A test harness loads our staged document engine in a headless browser and exports the same Word-saved file to PDF.
Software measures ink, text, word positions and line breaks on every page.
Visual review records rate each of the 917 features as a match, close or off.
Word feature fidelity
Selected areas, out of 20
A decorative page border renders as a plain line. Some chart labels, 3-D geometry and shading differ, as do transparency effects and curved text. Font substitution and line breaks in some Asian and Thai text also remain sources of differences.
Every chart type in Word’s Insert Chart dialog except maps, 186 of 187 shapes, all 161 SmartArt layouts.
These results measure rendering on this test corpus. They do not measure AI task success or guarantee fidelity after editing, saving and reopening a file.
Run of October 20, 2026, on 175 test documents covering 917 Word features in 20 areas. Excel and PowerPoint results are next. Microsoft Word is a trademark of Microsoft Corporation.
ChatGPT, Claude, or any AI app that supports MCP, the open standard for connecting AI apps to other software.
Mobeera Office edits your documents on your Mac. Your AI app sees what it reads from the files you share with it, and your AI provider’s own privacy terms apply to that.
No. It sees documents you share with it and documents it created. To open or save anything else, macOS asks you to choose the file or folder yourself.
It can’t yet change the text or pictures already on a PDF page; it annotates, fills, redacts and rearranges PDFs instead. Excel and PowerPoint compatibility tests are next, after Word.
Mobeera Office grows out of WordPilot, our Word editor with on-device AI. On the Mac, WordPilot becomes Mobeera Office.
No. Docs, Sheets, Slides and PDF are full editors on their own. Connect an AI when you want help.
