Basic and typed
Recall an answer, then compare it with the source-linked response; typed prompts can ask you to enter it first.
Study included with PDF Max Free
Create Questions from the Cards you already trust, practice them in focused sessions, inspect how each Question is progressing, and return to the source whenever you need the full context.
Recall on the page
Use Study Tape from the Research tab to cover text and reveal it as you practice. It works directly on the PDF, separately from source-linked Questions and scheduled Study. Tape is a recall aid, not permanent redaction.

Study starts from material accepted into the Workspace. A Question points to its Card, and the Card points to the original document evidence.
Question authoring
Every plan can create Questions manually from source-linked Cards. Optional Apple Intelligence can produce drafts on supported devices, but nothing is saved until you review it.

Hide meaningful parts of the source or choose among reviewable alternatives.
Practice why two Cards connect, not only what either Card says in isolation.
Use supported Card fields and captured regions to ask from mathematical, visual, or structured source material.
Hide the labels on a figure, cells in a table, or parts of a formula, and recall what belongs underneath.
AI-assisted drafts require Apple Intelligence on supported iOS 26 or macOS 26 devices. Manual Question authoring is always available and never requires AI.
Focused sessions
Build a session from the current work instead of maintaining a separate deck structure. Save useful scopes as presets and return to them later.
Scheduled Study
Recall, reveal, and rate the result. The rating updates when that individual Question returns.
Practice
Rehearse a scope without advancing or delaying scheduled reviews.
Progress and scheduling
Inspect recall, workload, lapses, and upcoming reviews. Tune schedule settings, preview interval changes, and use your device-local review history to optimize memory parameters.
Source return
Move from a Question or practice session to the supporting Card, then to the exact PDF page and passage. Source health remains visible if the underlying document changed or disappeared.
